Gynecomastia surgery, also known as male breast reduction, is a surgical procedure that removes excess glandular tissue, fat, or both from the chest — restoring a firmer, more defined, masculine chest shape. It is important to distinguish true gynecomastia, caused by excess glandular tissue, from pseudogynecomastia, which is caused by fat alone and is typically associated with weight gain. Many patients present with a combination of both, which Dr. Leonard will assess and address accordingly.
